Jesus the Word

God knew that he would have to tell us about himself or we would never know him. How can the creature discover the creator? He must reveal himself to us.

So, how best to go about it?

When you stop and think about it, something like a book isn’t really the best method. Writing can be misinterpreted and no book can love you or share in your life.

So the Word of God became flesh and made his dwelling with us. God’s ultimate revelation of himself is for God the Son to come personally, immediately, and intimately into our lives – our joy, our struggle, our sin, and all that we are.

This is what the Holy Spirit keeps calling the church back to in every reformation: Jesus, the Word of God, the revelation of the Father in flesh and blood and in relationship with humanity.
